The Evil in Our Midst

This past week there have been a number of shootings again. Maybe this is going on all the time, but the media has made sure to report on at least three I can think of off the top of my head that somehow caught me different than the others. All of them leading up to the Saturday night gunman at the White House Correspondents Dinner. The gunman never made it inside the event, but he did shoot an officer with a shotgun. The man came armed with a shotgun, pistol, and knives. This against what had to be well over a hundred-armed Secret Service, FBI, State and Local officers. Reminds me of the character in the Indiana Jones movies that pops out of the crowd and demonstrates his sword wielding skills only to have Indiana Jones scoff and shoot him. Lots of things go through my mind as to what was going on in this gunman’s head. Of course, there are already conspiracy theories going around that it was a set up by the Trump administration to justify his elaborate ballroom he feels so compelled to build. I for one shy away from these conspiracy theories mainly because I won’t let myself believe that even Trump couldn’t go so far as putting people in harm’s way just to get a building built. More than likely, even though this guy is a part-time teacher and video game designer and a graduate of the California Institute of Technology, it’s obvious to me that he cracked due to some situation he blamed on someone at the dinner, most likely the president. They didn’t kill him, so there is a chance that we may find out why, even though it seems he didn’t leave much of a digital footprint such as a manifesto or search history and certainly not social media other than I see he has a LinkedIn profile. It is obvious he has no military training or any other kind of operational training in the area of covert operations. Will most likely go down as a crackpot that went off the reservation due to voices in his head. The best he can hope for is some mental diagnosis that may lighten his ultimate sentence and if proven he was there to do harm to the president, he may never see the light of day again, at least freedom type daylight.

The third possible attempt on the president and the he said it right that when you make radical changes, the impacted will rise up to protest and lash out. Unfortunately for Trump, he believes his impacts have been made for the betterment of this country and all of its citizens. At least a low thirty percent would agree to include all of his ass-kissing staff. I swear they all walk around with a little of Trump’s shit on their noses all of the time. It’s pretty sickening watching these idiots grovel at his feet. Those getting the richest off this administration, the more knee-time it appears they spend. But the majority of us are very much onto the fact that this is the most corrupt administration in history, and that is saying a lot knowing the history of this country and a couple of very significant times in history like the Civil War and all the jockeying for power that took place in Washington DC. The only difference is this administration openly commits these acts in defiance of everyone watching and saying you can’t do anything about it, and therefore these crackpots come from out of the woodworks to do evil.

Gun control would be an answer by many, but I doubt it would even slow down any crime or shootings in this country if for no other reason than knowing how many firearms are already on the streets and in homes throughout this country. Mental health evaluations being record for registration and licensing might help some, but again when people are snapping it doesn’t mean they have a history or a therapy trail to lead us to understand a situation any better. At times, I feel certain about things that would help only to think about it a little longer and understand the futility in the effort. Praying helps our souls feel better, but God always give everyone a choice to do right or wrong and I don’t see some miracle reigning down to save us all. The chaos of the world right now is at a fever-pitch and until we remove some of the worst of the worst causing the ill-feeling attitudes, I sense that we haven’t seen how bad it can get. It’s enough to lose sleep over and certainly enough that we have to lock our doors in hopes we can keep the boogeyman out. I have thoughts of keeping a loaded pistol with me always, but the facts are not on my side, in that most people won’t react like someone trained to do so and would more than likely just get themselves and myself killed or do harm to someone for not reading a situation right and overreacting due to being scared out of our wits.

Hope, I have hope that my foretelling of our future will be less impactful than I feel it will get. I have faith that those we need to step forward and fix this will do just that. The bible says something to the effect of faith can move mountains, but my sense of reality sees that it will take much more than that. I feel vulnerable. I’m not happy and the November elections aren’t coming fast enough. I have hope that we will still be able to vote and that the federal government won’t go against the constitution and will stay out of the election process even with all the gerrymandering taking place around the country. I’m sick of turning on the tv only to find out the latest idiotic move that has been made or the latest tragedy causing loss of life that a developed country like ours should have been able to resolve long ago without people feeling any rights we were given came from God and therefore we surely can’t take those rights away. No such thing as a God-given right, only laws and a constitution to keep us safe, and the fear of relying on evildoers to somehow change their course of action and actually put us above themselves. Ha, when pigs fly!
