A New Year and a New President: Legitimate or Not?

2024 may go down as the most consequential year of my lifetime, if not of all time. This country is on a collision course with one of the most unethical, self-centered, democracy hating, constitutional demising person ever. Donald J. Trump, the wannabe Czar of America, is making another run at being president. But not as the next four-year term president, but instead the illegitimate leader of our great country for as long as he lives and then self-appointing his successor. Most of us are mystified by the GOP majority leaping from reality into so many conspiracy theory notions that it is hard to keep up with. Do we really have this many weak-minded individual’s incapable of original thought and moral application? It is truly disheartening to see so many followers that give less than a second of thought about everything said by Trump and his insane power-hungry mongers in politics. It is overwhelming how many would just rather believe what these MAGA so-called ultra conservative news outlets and websites spew out as so-called truth and not give one instance of time to think about them being dupped to believe and follow politicians and egotistical grifters merely looking for a way to become rich off the simple-minded.

I was raised to question authority, question religious ideologies, and believe only what I can prove to be true and just. I don’t do things and never have just because someone tells me I have too, in fact if someone tries to reign authority like that over me, I fight tooth and nail to prove them wrong. I go back to my military days and the Code of Conduct that tells you to follow only just commands. Certainly, if someone has gained my trust and has proven to be moral and fair in their decisions, I tend to follow them without much question, but there is never a time that I don’t give at least a moment of thought for validity. In 2024, we are facing the most important election of our lives. An election that deserves thought, rationalization, and a well-reasoned vote for the future of democracy and the future to have a say in the lives of us and our loved ones. If Trump is elected, he will demand allegiance not to America and the values for which we stand, but instead a fealty to him. He has vowed to shut down news media outlets that contradict him, to imprison his political opposition, to ensures he becomes wealthier, and he’ll move America to a state of haves and have-nots. The mere fact I would write this post in opposition to him would be an act of treason instead of my current right to voice my opinion without retribution. A man facing four separate indictments and ninety-one charges only grows more popular as the candidate of choice for so many that causes me great pause in the direction this country has gone and certainly scares the crap out of me in where we will be headed. He wants to sever ties with our allies in NATO and the EU, has no desire to maintain our international relations of today, but instead to suck up to the black-hearted dictators of countries like Russia, North Korea, and Iran. He believes power comes from absolute control and not via free-thinking people with a human kindness and a moral compass for direction. Trump is evil, dismissive of anything and everything that doesn’t include him at the top of whatever it is you might dream possible.

Are you scared? I sure as hell am. 2024 holds the fair and legitimate future of our great nation or the total dissemination of everything we have stood for since the Revolutionary War of 1775, our war of independence from British loyalists. In a year where we are on the verge of freedom and greatness, dark times loom ahead unless we fight for our rights outlined in the Constitution. How do we fight, we vote in the primaries and then vote in the general election in November. Just as in 2020, Trump will start disseminating misinformation of another rigged and unfair election months ahead. We may see another attack on our symbols of patriotism, but I hope we are better prepared for the security of our nation’s leaders as they validate each of the states electoral count. We need to ensure state electors are trustworthy and not inclined to circumvent a state’s electoral count. It was tried in 2020 with buffoons trying to rally for Trump and now they have had four years to better prepare delegitimizing our votes instead of an overnight three-ring circus of 2020. I am going to vote in the GOP primary for anyone not remotely aligned to Trump. If every democrat and independent chose to vote in the GOP Primary, I suspect we could keep Trump off the ballot come November. Wouldn’t that be interesting? With two states already banning Trump from the ballot and several more looking at the outcome of the Supreme Court decision and the possible ban of this idiot from their ballots, he might not could come up with enough vote and electoral college count to even be close.

I sat down to talk about my future year following my upcoming back surgery and the hope that we cross the finish line of remodeling. What my life will be like without a project-oriented day and more days allowing me to play, tinker, and hobby my way through personal interest will be fun to explore. We hope to be more active in real estate investment and started the year off with a bid for a rental/vacation house. Although it fell through, we are hopeful of finding the right situation for us and some possible rental income starting this year. We have several trips to include Hilton Head Island and Savannah, Hawaii, Tahoe, and the Kentucky Derby. As sure as we will enjoy this year on a personal level, I still feel the overwhelming if not looming question of what 2025 will hold for not only us, but this country I love. I am using the remaining energy I have for this country, and I am hopeful that this country will come out of its hypnotic state of enamor for Trump, and also the idiotic minded GOP majority of the House of Representatives. Prayers and statements of God is Control is not enough, in fact it is a cop out to reality. Wake up and do something! Be change and not the hope for change! Do something people, you deserve better!
