Primary Results and More
So many things are going on right now. The Primaries for many states are concluding and we are seeing a pattern to who we’ll see on the ballot. Numerous MAGA candidates are not making the cut with voters, but then there are those districts and states that have surprising results. Most notable to me, coming from Colorado, is Lauren Boebert changing districts and winning the GOP nomination to run against a democrat in a district that most certainly leans to the right. So, at least another two years of total stupidity making decisions for this country. I would like if they worked for the country, even if it was different than my political opinion, but they don’t. They work for the orange clown and kowtow to his every wish and whim. Those impulses, as we know, can be ludicrous in nature and he knows nothing but how to suck up to nut job dictators around the globe. Tonight there is the first of two presidential debates. Trump is already making excuses and they are being re-blasted by all of the right-wing media insisting that if Biden comes across good that he must be juiced up on drugs. Then they try to walk it back today that what they mean is he’ll be on some energy drink. I can only hope Trump freezes like he has on his tour of Dumbs-Ville residents around the country. It is alarming to me how many ignorant people there are in this country, and these are the same ones saying things like, “I don’t got no parents that would pay for my college.” or “I couldn’t move to Colorado cause I couldn’t live around all the marijuana smoking that goes on there.”. That last one actually came from one of the workers at our house. I asked him if he knew that all the states surrounding Texas have legalized pot. He was amazed and had no idea making me understand misinformation contained in a small bubble, can really establish some bad misconceptions. I asked him if he would like to know the revenue the state is generating off something that was already in this state? Followed up by asking if he was aware of how prevalent it was in Texas? I told him what Colorado’s first quarter and first year numbers were and then said it makes more sense in the state making revenue off of what already exists.
Dad and I went eat at a local Mexican food place in Bullard and after a few minutes, a couple came in and sat across the aisle from us. While Dad and I were talking, he was talking a little louder and kept looking at whether we were watching or listening to him. No, I wasn’t looking, but couldn’t help hearing the stupid stuff he was saying. It was like listening to a fifteen-year-old saying things cause he could and wanted to see the reaction. Reminds me of someone else I know. I certainly learned he really liked margarita’s and he always drank them when he came in, and then he made an assumption all the waitresses were family because everyone was Mexican. Then we heard his view on paid family leave and how everything was deep-state and a conspiracy against normal republican values and that democrats were all atheists child molesters. All the shit we hear on tv, but here it was on full display in perfect Mockingjay form. He kept going on and somehow finally tried to include our table in his nonsense. Jen would have been proud of me in me not saying, “was I supposed to care about whether his margarita came before our check?”. Well, he talked quieter after not even acknowledging him, and then we left. I really don’t understand why I have to be good when people are trying to bring me into their stupidity. Why is it unacceptable to confront this ideocracy so prevalent in this country now? By not hitting it in the face, we just give them the okay to spout their BS, and when never challenged with fact over misinformation it spreads like wildfire. But good Democrats are above the confrontation and their silence is going to ruin this country and our democracy. I feel we are again looking at 2016, where Hillary Clinton’s voters stayed home because all the polls showed her ahead. I believe it is going to be so easy for Trump to win because of voters thinking Biden isn’t progressive enough. But, can you imagine their ranting Senator from Vermont would lose by an even larger margin because you’d have centrist democrats running to the independent candidates, even to the looney-bin Kennedy. Lets hope the voters go to cast their vote in November. I never put much faith in polls because we never really know what litmus test is used to factualize the poll. I hope someone keeps a tally on the debate tonight of how many questions Trump actually answers with policy and political knowledge he obviously lacks. I expect we’ll get some kind of response that more or less restates the question and then he goes off on a tangent about sharks, water swirling in the toilet, windmills and the sound he says they make and how many birds that die due to the blades. Those must be blind and really slow birds.
Then there are the guys helping our select craftsman tile. I’m finding out how many people are willing to cut corners for there ease and less time and still expect the same pay. Our guy makes sure we are pleased prior to doing what they do instead of doing it and telling me it is too late to change. It is why we have come to trust so much in what he does and is also why he can warranty his work. I’m so glad he has our back. You only get one shot at doing it right and ensuring that you wouldn’t be bothered forever in having to look at something you didn’t want. I told Dad that we want th Ritz-Calton result, not the Motel-6 version.
I was reminded two days ago how much I really hate rude people. I was talking to someone for a while when someone came rolling up and walked right in front of me to talk to the person I had been talking too. Not a “excuse me, can I ask a question?”. Nope, just, fuck you, I will do what I want. It was done for one of two reasons, either this person is stupid to social norms or it was on purpose to show some antagonistic dominance over me. I laugh at both, as their knowledge of me is so unknown to them and the severing of the relationship is worth so little to them. As everyone knows about me, I’m an island person. You are either on the island or not, once off, pretty impossible to get back on. I let it happen once before, now I’m regretting I didn’t stick to my inner workings. I have another chance to right the wrong. I’m not sure it would matter to this person though. Hopefully writing this and getting it out, I’ll forget about it. But I’m getting tired of it happening over and over again.
I hope I find humor in the debate tonight because I know the polls will reflect in favor of the orange idiot. Time will tell, but I really hope this country wakes up and realizes how dangerous it will be to have a convicted felon at the fingertips of our entire nuclear arsenal. I know I’ve been all over the place with this issue, but it mimics my mind right now with the remodel, buying a boat, and trying to buy a rent house, and left alone to deal with it all. It’s enough to cause someone to drink. I’m falling back on my mantra I’ve used before, “This too will pass!”. Can I use it for this country? I really wish I could or better yet, pull a Rip Van Winkle on it all and wake to it all being resolved while in lullaby land. Well, that isn’t going to happen.
I didn’t even watch the debate and I feel like I have seen too much of it anyways lol.
