Just When You Thought it was Safe to Relax

LOL, just when you think the world can’t get any crazier, someone or something steps up to show you that you haven’t seen everything yet. Our current president is the most notable, of course, but others in the political world are just as bad. I just heard Lindsey Graham this morning with one of the stupidest comments ever. “It doesn’t matter whether the Senator of South Carolina is black or any other race, it only matters that that person is conservative and has no liberal values”. Incredible comment in 2020, or is it?

The rush through of a Supreme Court justice is prime example of the archaic move by the ideology of an overly conservative group that wants our country to go back 70 years. As if the ideology then was better for the country. What I think of those times is that most minority factions of the world were hidden to a fake religious based notion about abortion, gay, black, brown, yellow, or pink. I’m watching Pete Buttigieg talk about this very topic. He is a smart guy and I wish I could remember what he says because it is so eloquent, but what I get is mainly a verbal response to what I feel these days. The humorous thing is that Trump got no love from the Supreme Court before and after the election. Honestly, these are judges that have made a life out of being so. In the end they will uphold the law. I’m sure Biden will try to do something like add more judges, but this reckless too as it just opens the door down the road.

I heard in a statement from the parents of Mathew Sheppard, in response to being asked about the current nomination for Supreme Court, the Dad responded by saying the courts should remain in the arena of judicial law and decide judicial matters without theolitics. Theolitics, what a great new word for what is happening in this process. It is of course perfect for what is happening with the conservative right-wing nuts out there today. Affordable Care Act, gay/lesbian marriage and family rights, voter suppression, a woman’s right to choose are all on the court docket and eligible to set this country back in time to a white controlled, self-righteous, hypocritical world all in the name of God though a false interpretation of the bible and for a political divineness that may hold promise for the near future, but bring political suicide in the years to come. I’m no theologian, but I am capable of reading and deciding on my own what is said. This pick-a-part to suit your needs or wanted belief is so damaging and then when you put it in the hands of someone that has a little charisma, those uneducated idiots of the world that would rather believe that anything that comes out of someone’s mouth that has a position of power, most certainly has to be true just because they are too lazy to actually have a thought-provoking notion about current events. They would rather whoop and holler and drive a truck through the mud, drink beer, and beat their women into second-class citizenship. Do you have any thought that a black man or woman has any significant ground when all they see is the N-word and the system finding opportunity after opportunity to knock them down over and over again? It really doesn’t go beyond that does it? These bigoted and self-righteous people of no backbone would rather destroy the future of good than to have someone on equal ground and ultimately lose the last bastion of control they have.

It has taken a life time for me to come to where I am in my life and have the formed opinion that I do. Thinking back, I find myself often having thoughts or beliefs that my past self would not be comfortable with me today, but totally clueless for different reasons of why I’m not comfortable today. I attribute my kids to opening my eyes to a more accepting and justice and compassionate thought process about things. I understand how people are who they are and certainly that their sexuality are not choices, but actually are part of their DNA makeup. I constantly am reminded the reality that the Bible is not written as the word of God, but instead written by man inspired by God. But, are it still is left open to interpretation and also remember that the Bible was written by men from a region of the world that we currently as a country are at odds with on ideological standings? Frankly, the Bible is an archaic book written by men from a different century that were in support of men and anyone not believing them would get stoned for having a stance different from theirs. Sound familiar? Many stones are being thrown today and values are being tested as to whether we live in an archaic world or a modern world that has created a way of life that has been driven to promote equality and fairness today and, in the future, but in danger of a setback and inciteful reason for a modern-day civil war. Another term that is ridiculous, in that there is nothing civil about it. It is a all or nothing world these days with no one wanted to come to a consensus in the middle. Instead, what they do in the name of trying to work with the other side is propose numbers or policies that are just out of reach of the other sides beliefs and platform. Therefore, we get a lot of parading dickheads, bobbing and weaving their way through the media and the podium of one of the chambers doing the dancing chicken without any intention of resolution. In fact, when the other side as surprised them with an agreement, the line gets conveniently moved and claim of it not really meeting the needs and that everyone should just leave the business of government to the government. Wasn’t our foundation built on the government being for the people and by the people and designed to stop exactly what is happening now?

Listening to people during this last election cycle was disappointing to say the least. From the downplay by the president that black lives matter and instead will not denounce white supremacy. In fact, he told them to stand back and stand by. Which also gave them going forward, the allowability to plot a kidnapping of the governor of Michigan because she is Democrat and one of the people that is outspoken against Donald J. Trump. He actually wanted to stop federal funding to all cities and states that are democrat lead and had a contrary idea. What an idiot!! Please God, do not allow this devil of a man to serve his interests on us any longer. He is hell bent on ruining this world and hides behind your goodness to promote his evilness design and please don’t forget his many minions. They are his real evil-doers and thwart the potential of a good life for all to protect the weakness of a few. Trump lost and five and half months later the right-wing conservatives are still plotting to remove Liz Cheney for calling it like she saw it. The funny thing was, there were twenty or so others that also voted to impeach. Thank goodness Kevin McCarthy fell prey to the hidden mic and his intentions were played for the world. Wait a few weeks, he will deny he said it and still move forward to remove her. I truly wish the Republican Party would splinter. I think then they would be their own demise and the result might be a party people find they can get behind. Remove Trump and his evil-doers and we might have a chance.

But then you have the AOC’s of the world. Just as wacky, just as self-righteous and potentially just as destructive to this country. When you remove the true values, this country was founded on and true to create some balanced pie in the sky country where no one remains rich and we all share in the fruits of a few laborers. It will be just as damaging. I fear the young movement of Robin Hoods robbing from the rich and giving to the poor. Is it any better on the flip-side to rob from the poor and give to the rich in hopes they will take care of you?

So many things broke and so little idea of how to repair it. Spend more money? I don’t think it does anything to fix the people. Give business’ more tax break in hopes of trickle-down? How many times does this have to be tried before the government appointed congressmen catch on that companies make money, spend their money on themselves, and better the business? If you want to come along for the ride, jump on, but I need you to do more for less.

I’m upset, I want to retreat into my bubble, vacation, work on my house and yard, and leave the rest to those in charge, but then I realize and silently under my breath I bitch that it really is up to us to something about it all. The media has no interest other than money made off the chaos. The just perpetuate everything and try to make you feel stupid if you have an opposing viewpoint. They don’t really care that you do, they just want to incite the public display of difference. It sells!!!

I’m tired, I just want to relax and take a nap without wondering what happened during the 20 minutes of sleep I managed to get? Please take my cell phone, my internet, all news channels, and let me have a break from it all and even my own mumbling under my breath. I know, what kind of defeatist idea is that? I’ll tell you, an idea that for many years I’ve played and nothing ever changed in the favor of promises made and certainly not from promises supposedly met. They have lied to me long enough!!! I will shout it at the top of my mumbling and hope no one understands me.
