Taking a Break
For the last few months, we’ve been inundated with the illogic from the Stupiblican and their counterparts, the Dumbocrats. I’ve written several blogs displaying my disappointment in the Orange Administration. Why should I ever expect anything to occur other than one man trying to hog all of the attention and demanding that all bow and pledge allegiance not to the flag or the constitution, but to himself. Vanity projects and self-legacy idolism are his focus, and he has admitted that he doesn’t care about the struggles of the American people as a result his actions. My feeling is that if you do a good job, there will be people that remember you positively, but when you run a clown show and self-proclaim it to be the best thing since sliced bread, you’re more apt to see people try to make sure you aren’t remembered for anything except being the worst president ever. That being said, I’m tired of him consuming more of my time beyond the opening statements of Morning Joe. As we all found out last week, he watches the show too and then posts messages on his Non-Truth Social site. So, let’s move on to other things.
I have posted several blogs about my experience with having foot surgery at sixty-five and the ensuing recovery process. A couple weeks ago the boot was removed and I’m free to move until it hurts and rest until it doesn’t. I’m making a dent in the projects that have been on hold for three months and am about to catch back up thanks to my daughter and son-in-law. By the end of the summer, there shouldn’t be anything outstanding. Although I’ll have to hire some work to be done, we’ll even get the cabin finished and will be in a mode of rental income and routine maintenance. All in time for me to be evaluating whether it would be better to sell it than retain it. The rental income has only had one month of covering the bills and mortgage. We’ll have to decide whether we want it as something for us with the occasional rental income or get serious about supplemental renting outside of the MCOA guide services use of it.
The last third of the year should be dedicated to baby watch and vacation followed by Christmas with kids. Grandbaby number nine is due in November, a boy finally following six girls. Not sure if we’ll see no further grandkids, but for me, I’m good either way. There is nothing better than grandkids and watching our kids be parents and go through all the things they thought we were stupid for doing and hearing them ask us questions or complaining about things and us simply saying, “yeah we went through that too”. The circle becomes complete!
I have concluded that I could care less about traveling to foreign lands. I still want to explore North America, but I want to sell the trailer and just stay in hotels. I have a pickup just to pull the trailer, both are sitting far more than being used, yet even though they are paid for, you still have insurance and registration to remind you every month that you’re wasting money. In these days when nothing is affordable, causing yourself to be poorer every month is dumb. Just need to get to it. Probably have too many things like sitting around, such as a washer/dryer in one. Used it about a dozen times and decided it would be better to get a stackable gas unit. The only reason I had bought it in the first place was that it ran on 110v power, but due to that and the use of recyclable dryer heat, it takes clothes forever to get dry. Maybe that is only a problem in the humid climate I live in. If I lived out west in a dryer climate, it would work much better. But I noticed that these units are now venting the heat which also vacates the moisture and clothes probably dry better. If I could get half of what I paid for it, I’d be happy. Procrastination drives me nuts but I’m as guilty as anyone. Need to get off my ass and get everything out of here not being used.
I am, as I said earlier, getting caught up on things. Things are shaping back up and I’m going to be getting things done at the cabin. Just a few projects over a few weekends and then hire the specialized things to be done by professionals. By this Fall, only exterior paint will remain and staining the decks and elevated walkways. It will be so much fun getting away any weekend we want to. Finally, to enjoy it the way we intended from the start two years ago.
I’m taking a break from the craziness of this government and the antics by our leaders to justify cheating on elections. It’s hilarious that that claim election fraud when they lose and that everything is great when they win. Sounds to me they just eat a lot of sour grapes and ego’s won’t let them face reality. The most hypocritical of them all is Mike Johnson, our so-called religious speaker of the house. I wonder how much attrition he’ll have to do for the all the lying he does in support of Trumpty-Dumpty. Probably the best thing to invest in is mouthwash as I’m sure many of them are having to rinse their mouths at least ten times a day. I won’t even get into things like the president investing in something and then turning around and telling all of his legion to buy more of it. Getting rich of the backs of Americans and leaving a disgusting legacy of his name plastered on things are all we have to look forward to. I wonder how much was spent on the gold crap around the Whitehouse and I wonder how long it will take for the next president to take it all out. I suppose it could be sold and put back in the coffers of the American budget. All the president would have to do is tell everyone to invest in gold and then sell it all. It’s not hard to figure this administration out, it’s just unbelievable how brazen they are. Thirty more months, God help us! Sorry, can’t help myself.
